Michael “Paw Paw” Sullivan, age 76, of Wickliffe, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at his residence.
Michael was born in Cairo, Illinois on July 18, 1945 to Walter and Iona Whitehead Sullivan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army 101st Airborne. He retired after 35 years from American Commercial Barge Line as a River Boat Captain. He was a lifetime member of the KIM Shrine club and a member of Masonic Lodge #625 in Wickliffe. Michael loved horses, fishing, camping, hunting and his dog, Lucy, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
Michael is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dwanda Sullivan; one daughter, Belinda Sullivan of Wickliffe; two brothers, Eugene Sullivan (Amy) of Memphis, Tennessee, Walter Sonny Sullivan (Susan) of Wickliffe; one grandchild, Micah Poole (William Carter); two great-grandchildren, Oakley Davidson, Sullivan Poole; three step-great-grandchildren, Hunter Carter, Blake Carter, Rylee Carter along with several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Harrison, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Bro. Dee Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow the service at Wickliffe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m.
