A Paducah man was arrested after a stabbing Friday night on Thurman Street.

Suspect: Brian Ross, 49, of Paducah, arrested on a charge of first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence
Paducah Police were called to the 2200 block of Eulah Street in regards to a stabbing. Officers found the victim with an apparent stab wound to the chest. They learned the victim walked there from Thurman Street where the incident occurred. Officers rendered aid, and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he received treatment for significant injuries. The victim stated a man named Brian was the person who stabbed him.
Detective Chelsee Breakfield responded to the scene and began an investigation. A short time later, she confirmed Brian Ross was a suspect and he was located at an apartment on Wall Street. Mr. Ross was interviewed, and he admitted to being in an altercation with the victim, stabbing him, and throwing the knife away.
Ross was charged with first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail. The victim is in stable condition.
