Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles improve to 4-2

Christian Fellowship improved to 4-2 on the season following Tuesday’s four inning 17-0 win over Fulton City. After opening the season with a loss to Mayfield, they won three straight over St. Mary, Dawson Springs and Fort Campbell before a loss to Ballard on Monday.

In their last four games, three were decided in four innings or less, starting with a 15-0 win over Dawson Springs. The Lady Eagles had 12 hits in the three-inning win, led by Lily Burnett who went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Jayden Jackson 2-for-3 with an RBI and Renee Shields was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Jackson pitched the shutout allowing no hits while striking out three.

The Lady Eagles followed up the win over Dawson Springs with a 6-4 victory over Fort Campbell. CFS led 6-0 after four innings but Fort Campbell rallied with a four-run top of the fifth to cut the lead to what would be the 6-4 final score.

Jayden Jackson was huge at the plate for the Lady Eagles, going 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Jackson also earned the win from the circle, allowing four hits, four runs and struck out five.

A two run inside the park home run hit by Renee Shields gave CFS their 2-0 lead in their first time at the plate. Jackson’s RBI single made it a 3-0 game after two innings and they added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth on a steal of home plate by Gracie Howard and two-run triple from Jackson.

Jayden Jackson scored the Lady Eagles first run in their 17-0 win over Fulton City. Jackson also pitched her fourth win of the season and third shut out.

Monday, Ballard Memorial handed the Lady Eagles their second loss of the season. The Lady Bombers four inning 15-0 win came on 19 hits. Michaela Meyer pitched the shutout in four innings allowing four hits while striking out four.

Hits for CFS came from Jayden Jackson, Gracie Howard, Renee Shields and Lily Burnett. Johnna Riggs and Mady Parrott both were perfect at the plate for Ballard going 4-for-4 with five RBIs between them.

Tuesday’s 17-0 win over Fulton City in four innings came on 10 hits. Rhema Howard led with three hits in her four plate appearances. The junior hit a double, two triples and brought in eight runs. Lily Burnett had a single and home run along with three RBIs. Jayden Jackson allowed one hit in four innings and struck out five.

After time off from competition over Spring Break, CFS will open play in the All “A” Tournament against Mayfield on April 12.
