Marshall County pitcher, Evan Oakley, signed on Wednesday at Marshall County High School to continue his baseball career at Kentucky Wesleyan in Owensboro.

Evan is in his fourth season of varsity baseball with the Marshals and his current record is 8-3 with a 2.69 ERA and WHIP of 1.05. Evan has struck out 98 batters in 70.2 innings pitched.

“Evan is an outstanding student, player and leader for the baseball team”, Head Coach Tyler O’Daniel said. “He gives maximum effort and has a drive for success. He is a ‘gamer’ with a quiet confidence that allows him to be a fierce competitor. He has been a staple in the lineup for the last three years.”

The Marshall County baseball staff said of Evan, “This season, he has already shown his ability to lead by helping the younger players, whether in the weight room, on the field or in the clubhouse. Kentucky Wesleyan is a great school with a great staff, and they are getting an incredible young man. He will make an immediate impact for the Panthers. Evan has been a blessing to the baseball program and has made an impact that will last for many years.”
