Nearly $83,000 raised in Western Kentucky Polar Plunge

Plungers leaped into 50-degree Kentucky Lake waters in Saturday’s Western Kentucky Polar Plunge held at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park.

The 2022 Western Kentucky Polar Plunge and Polar 5K was held Saturday morning at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park. Each year, the Polar Plunge and Polar 5K is held during the winter months in support of the over 13,000 people with intellectual disabilities who participate in year-round sports and health programming provided by Special Olympics Kentucky.

Since 1997, nearly $9 million has been raised through the Polar Plunge event. As of Saturday, the 2022 Western Kentucky Polar Plunge has raised $82,943.28.

The top fundraisers for 2022 in the team division, the Murray Rockets ($21,575) among individuals, Chuck Williams ($12,894).
