Willie Wagers, age 75, of Benton, Kentucky passed away February 9, 2022 at his residence.

He was born January 31, 1947 to the late Herman and Edith Stevens Wagers in Manchester, Kentucky. He was a U.S. Veteran of the Army and a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Mr. Wagers was retired from American Electric Power where he was a carman and a member of United Mine Workers. Willie loved people and they loved him back. He was full of joy and always witty. “I don’t feel good, but I look good!” was a favorite saying of Willie’s. He loved his little buddy, “Charlie” the dog, who had been his companion for ten years. He also enjoyed watching old western movies, Mash and The Golden Girls. . He loved and missed his dear wife of 55 years visiting her every morning at the cemetery to have coffee and breakfast with her. He loved his family deeply and all the children found him to be funny and joyful.

Willie Wagers is survived by three daughters, Kathy Taylor of St. Louis, MO, Barbara Hall of Calvert City and Marie Wagers of Gilbertsville; five sisters, Evelyn Wright, Lorene Henson, Carolyn Kish, Sandra White and Melissa Wagers; three brothers, David, Clarence and Calvin Wagers; six grandchildren, Jeremey York, Joshua York, Caitlyn Hall, Keatyn Cook, Sierra Wagers and Halee Kitchell; 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mr. Wagers in death are his wife, Judy Gail Parrish Wagers; parents, Herman and Edith Stevens Wagers; a brother, Billy Wagers; and an infant sister, Barbara Wagers.

Funeral services for Willie Wagers will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Filbeck & Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home with Bro. Scott Wagner officiating and burial will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
