Waller’s 36-point night leads Lady Marshals over Christian Fellowship

It’s been 17 years since Marshall County and Christian Fellowship have played and with the Lady Eagles entry back into the 4th District this season, the two teams met for their the first of two games Tuesday at Reed Conder Gymnasium.

Scoring the first 22 points of the game, the Lady Marshals went on to amass a 30-5 lead at the end of the first quarter behind 15 from Skyler Waller. The freshman went on to score 36 points in the game, she was 6-of-7 in 3-pointers and 4-for-4 at the free throw line.

Waller scored 12 of their 21 points in the second quarter and the lead was 51-13 at halftime. CFS was led in the half by Gracie Howard with six points and Lillian Burnett with five.

Waller opened the half with her fourth and fifth 3-pointer of the night and added her sixth to end the third quarter on a 63-19 Lady Marshals lead.

Madyson Morton’s five points led the Lady Marshals in the fourth quarter on their way to a 43-point win.

Howard and Burnett shared scoring duties for CFS, both finishing with 12 points. Burnett had 11 rebounds to pick up her 11th double-double this season.

The Lady Eagles (13-5) will look to pick up their second district win of the season when they play Calloway County at home on Thursday. They have one district win over Murray. The Lady Marshals (12-4) will play at Paducah Tilghman on Friday.
