Monti Collins is announcing his candidacy for re-election as the Marshall County 3rd District Commissioner. Collins stated “I am excited to announce that after much prayer and consideration, I have decided to run for a 2nd term to represent the 3rd district of Marshall County. It has certainly been a challenging first 3 years of my term on the fiscal court, but I am proud of what we have accomplished during this term and I truly believe that I have more to do and I can and will help Marshall County continue to move forward.”
Collins said “We have funded much needed water projects in all three districts to bring potable water to people who have waited patiently for years. We have funded sewer projects in Draffenville that will only help to grow that area both residentially and commercially especially along I 69. We supported both businesses and residents during a global pandemic. We made sure we funded SRO’s in all schools throughout the Marshall County School system. I am extremely proud of all of these accomplishments and much more.”
Pastor Michael and Drusilla Donald of Pathway Baptist Church in Calvert City enthusiastically supports the re-election of Monti Collins and commented “As a lifelong resident of Marshall County, and County Commissioner these past three years, Monti has proven to be a leader who has represented the 3rd district very well. He has served with an open ear, willing to hear all sides. He has also demonstrated patience as the court has navigated some arduous issues. Monti is a family man, supported by his wife Denise and daughters Sophie, and Jillian. It is our desire that Monti Collins is re-elected as the 3rd District Commissioner of Marshall County.”
Collins stated “With great challenges come great opportunities to lead and succeed. I would not be running for another term if I didn’t truly believe I am an asset to the Fiscal Court. I believe I have proven that my background in finance and management has been an asset to the court. I have taken the last few months to make sure that I could keep that promise and I know I can commit to it. Just like all the decisions I have made while on the Fiscal Court, I took that same necessary time to insure that.”
Monti and his wife, Denise live near Calvert City with their two 15 year old children, Sophie and Jillian. They attend Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church. Monti has been a Realtor for 8 years with REMAX in Benton and Denise has taught at Calvert Elementary School for 25 years. Denise said “When Monti decided to run for office his main goal was to do everything he could to help make our community better, and to make it a place our girls will want to raise their families in the future. He has not strayed from that goal even when he has to make difficult decisions that aren’t always popular, when some don’t agree with him and when his name is mentioned negatively on social media, he still focuses on that goal and I know he will continue to do that.”
