Luella Jane Lucas, 91, of Wickliffe, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Luella was born on July 17, 1930 in Stillwater, New York, the daughter of Ralph and Nettie Crandall. She relocated to Western Kentucky in 1969 with her late husband, Thomas J. Lucas and family. Luella will be dearly missed by her three children, Thomas (Lereva) Lucas Jr. of Barlow, Kentucky, Paul (Frances) Lucas of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Susanne (Tony) Meggs of Wickliffe, Kentucky. Luella has 7 grandchildren and 14 adorable great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, David (Anne) Crandall of Stillwater, New York, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was raised on a farm with her four brothers and one sister. Luella was employed by the Kelly Girl Services in New York and helped to start the Westvaco Credit Union in Wickliffe, Kentucky. She volunteered at the Day Star Community Center in Cairo, Illinois and with the local Ballard County Library. Luella loved reading, sports, and being with family and friends. She spent the last three years at the Life Care Nursing Home in La Center, Kentucky. Luella was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Cairo, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
Inurnment and graveside services will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
