Mrs. Margie Lucille (Sample) Harrington, age 96 of Calvert City, KY died on Friday, March 5, 2021, at her home. She was a homemaker and was inspired by the Rosie the Riveter campaign to join the workforce during World War II.
Born Sunday, July 20, 1924 in Livingston Co, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Crittenden Sample and the late Ollie Pearl (Rye) Sample.
Surviving are sons, Timothy Lee Harrington of Morgantown, KY and Richard Harrington of Calvert City, KY, daughter, Janet Irvan, husband Gary of Calvert City, KY, grandchildren, Joe Harrington, wife Molly of Seattle, WA, Donald Harrington, wife Mandy of Benton, KY, Kimberly Stack of Benton, KY, Paula Irvan of Benton, KY, step-grandchildren, Sherri Hulsey of Owensboro, KY, Kevin Hulsey of Owensboro, KY, great grandchildren, Amber Davis, Morgan Chilton, Kayla Harrington, Mallory Harrington, Simon Harrington, step great grandchildren, Jimmy Hulsey, Nick Hulsey, Emily Hulsey, great-great grandchildren, Emmalynne Davis, Nathan Davis, Annibelle Chilton, Emmett Chilton, and sister, Claudine Robinson of Blue Springs, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William W. “Bill” Harrington, granddaughter, Alicia Kay Irvan, 6 brothers and 1 sister.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Bradford Marcus Robinson officiating.
Interment will follow in Leonard Cemetery, Calvert City, KY.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
