Hulan Oliver, 78

Hulan H. Oliver, 78, of Melber, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 2:40 P.M. at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Hulan was born in Graves County, Kentucky on January 2, 1941 to Albert T. and Addess Austin Oliver. He retired after 32 years of employment, mostly as Tour Foreman in the wood-yard, at Westvaco Corporation. Generous and compassionate, he participated in mission trips to various countries, volunteered for the Bread of Life Humanitarian Disaster Relief Effort, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Lone Oak First Baptist Church until his health declined. He also attended Pottsville Church of Christ with his wife Wilda.

Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife of 43 years, Wilda Ann Beckham Oliver; his daughter, Erin Ann Oliver Cheng and husband Benedict, of Nashville, Tennessee; his sons, James P. Oliver and wife Ronza, of Paducah, and Richard Todd Oliver and wife Lynda, of Boaz, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Austin Oliver and wife Maressa, Andrew Oliver, Rosalie Oliver, Everett Oliver; his sisters, Helen Gibbs, Jeanette McGary, Doris Gibbs; his brother, Terry D. Oliver; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Jean Oliver; his parents, Albert T. Oliver and Addess Austin Oliver.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Mike Peters and Bro. Ronnie Stinson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pottsville Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lone Oak Chapel from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday, October 27, 2019.
