
ROTARY CLUB OF MURRAY ANNOUNCES
MAX HURT MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNMENT
June 28 Event to Raise Scholarship Funds
Murray KY— May 21, 2019 — LaCosta Hays, Golf Tournament chair, announced today the details surrounding the upcoming Max Hurt Memorial Golf Tournament to be held on June 28, 2019. The two- person scramble event, presented by David Taylor Chrysler-Jeep-Ram and Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Registration begins at noon followed by lunch and play kicks off at 1:00 p.m. with a shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for 1st place, 5th place, 10th place and last place. Additional prizes will also be given for longest drive and closest to pin. Bacon, Farmer, Workman & Marcum Engineering will sponsor the $10,000 Hole in One prize.
Team entry fees are $150 and the money raised will be used to fund several long-running scholarship programs provided by the Rotary Club of Murray.
The tournament will be held at the Murray Country Club, a club with a rich history that has undergone an overall transformation in the past few years, having completely resurfaced the course greens. According to many who have recently played there it is one of the best courses in the western part of Kentucky. Not only has the course been renovated, the club has made improvements to their tennis courts, pool, and clubhouse.
“The Max Hurt Memorial has a special place in the golf tournament season and this year promises to be better than ever,” said Hays. “The tournament has been around for many years but continues to grow in popularity, especially with the great condition of the Murray Country Club course. We are looking forward to seeing everyone as we support young people in the area by raising money for scholarships.”
