Robert E. Driver, 94 of Calvert City, KY passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.Born Tuesday, March 3, 1925 in Gilbertsville, KY, he was the son of the late Gus Allen Driver and the late Ora Winders Driver.
Mr. Driver was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in WWII on the Battleship USS Mississippi in the South Pacific. He was a chemical Operator for GAF in Calvert City where he later retired from. His hobby and love was cattle farming and gardening. He was a member of Calvert City Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Modean (Davis) Driver of Calvert City, KY; one son, Dennis Driver wife Sandra of Calvert City, KY; four grandchildren, Brent Driver, Andrea Livingston, Wesley Cunningham, Scott Cunningham; and three great grandchildren, Hayes Driver, Bennett Driver, and Jackson Driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Peggy Cunningham, and several brothers and sisters.
A Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Calvert City Church of Christ with the Lance Cordle officiating.
Interment will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th St, Benton, KY.
