CFS students celebrate Week of Reading

The elementary school dresses up as their favorite book character for Books Alive.

Every year in November, Christian Fellowship Elementary School celebrates a week of reading. This year CFS held the event November 12-15, except the snow delayed the grand finale-Books Alive-to today November 9th.

Third grader, Jadyn Cates, reads to preschooler Taven Ryan on Tuesday as CFS celebrates a Week of Reading.

Each day had a special event:
• Monday students dressed in their pajamas and D.E.A.R. (dropped everything and read).
• Tuesday older elementary students visited the younger classes and read their favorite book.
• Wednesday was Breakfast and a Book day.
• Thursday (moved to Monday November 19, due to snow) was Books Alive.

At Books Alive students dressed up as their favorite character from their favorite book. A Books Alive parade was held before going to class. Students introduced themselves and shared their favorite character and book. Fifth grade students acted out Thanksgiving at the Tappletons’ by Eileen Spinelli for the elementary students.
