
Former Marshall County baseball player, Dylan Givins, pitched seven innings for the Southern Illinois Salukis in their 3-2 win over Belmont Tuesday. In his shut-out seven innings, he allowed three hits, struck out two and walked two.
The 6’5″ sophomore is 3-0 on the mound this season for the Salukis, has pitched 29 innings, struck out 22, walked eight with a 3.10 ERA.
Givins picked up his first win for SIU March 20 against SIUE in three innings on the mound, allowing four hits, one run and two strike-outs. Win number two came on April 10 against Eastern Illinois in 5.1 innings, allowing six hits, five runs and two strike-outs.
SIU Head Coach Ken Henderson said of Givins on siusalukis.com, “He gets better every time out.”
The Salukis are 19-17 and play Murray State today (Apr. 18) at 5:00 at home.
