Two local men were arrested after officers discovered methamphetamine.

On April 2, at approximately 4:17 p.m., detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division, observed two individuals, engaged in what appeared to be a drug transaction on the parking lot of 3700 Clark’s River Road in McCracken County.

When detectives approached the individuals they were identified as Stephen Johnston, 33, of Calvert City and Kerry Page of Ledbetter, 29.

During a search of Johnston’s person and vehicle, detectives located  7.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, a glass smoking pipe, syringes and other items of drug paraphernalia.

Johnston was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. Page claimed that he had just met Johnston on the parking lot to speak with him. Detectives seized Page’s cell phone and released him.

A search warrant was obtained for Page’s cell phone. A subsequent investigation revealed that Page had met Johnston on the parking lot on April 2 to supply him with methamphetamine that had been seized by detectives from Johnston. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Page for trafficking in methamphetamine.

On April 4, 2018 deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, assisting in the investigation, located Page at his residence at 344 Scott Road in Ledbetter and placed him under arrest. Page was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The investigation is continuing.
