The Kentucky State Police has finished processing the crime scene at Marshall County High School and has turned over the property to the Marshall County School District.
Sixteen students suffered gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting at the school on Tuesday. Two of the victims died from their injuries. Seven more were injured in the incident. Currently, three students remain hospitalized but in stable condition.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Team is continuing to investigate with the cooperation of local, state and federal partners.
Students returned to the high school this morning at the regular time and congregated together in the gym at 8:00 a.m. Students entered the gym starting at 7:30 a.m. greeting by the staff. Superintendent Trent Lovett and Principal Patricia Greer spoke which was followed by a ‘walk-thru’ with final words by Greer at 9:30 then dismissed to class at 9:45 with the first block beginning at 10:00.
