Schedule of community events and fundraisers

Many events and fundraising opportunities are being scheduled in support of those affected by the Jan. 23 shooting at Marshall County High School. As we receive them, we will add them to this post.

Feb. 21 Domino’s fundraiser: Domino’s in Draffenville, Paducah, Murray and Metropolis, IL will hold a fundraiser. Mention “Marshall Strong” when ordering and 20% of the price of your order will be donated.

March 2 – MCHS Fundraiser at CFS: Christian Fellowship School is holding a Coaches vs Seniors basketball game. Numerous raffles/drawings. No admission – donations only. All proceeds, including concession sales, will go to the victims/families of the MCHS tragedy. The event starts at 6:00 pm, game at 6:30 pm.

March 9 Briensburg Baptist Church: A benefit concert will be held at the church at 6:30 pm.

MARSHALL COUNTY STRONG/#PRAYFORMARSHALL wristbands: The Kentucky Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau is selling silicon wrist bands. They are donating enough for every student, teacher and staff member at MCHS, and the remainder will be $1 each. All money raised will go to the families and victims of the tragic and devastating event. Call our office at 270-527-3128 or stop by 93 Carroll Rd.

Action Sports t-shirt fundraiser: Action Sports at 1016 Brown Street in Paducah is selling a “We are Marshall” shirt. The store says 100% of the proceedings will go to the families affected.

Marshall County Rotary Club Youth Services Fund: A special account is set up for the shooting victims. Donations will be tax deductible and go to help the families with various expenses. Proceeds will also go to set up two scholarship funds in the memory of Bailey Holt and Preston Cope. Checks should be made out to Youth Services Fund of Marshall County Rotary Club. Farmer’s Daughter Soap Company in Paducah: They are selling #MarshallStrong bath bombs and soaps, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help with funeral expenses for the family of Bailey Holt. The shop says the items will be blue and orange, with the Marshall County High School logo and #marshallstrong stamped on each soap. The items will be scented with orange essential oil. Farmer’s Daugher Soap Company is at 104 Broadway St. in Paducah.

Sweet Tee Company in Benton:  Selling #MarshallStrong T-shirts for $10 each, with proceeds benefiting the victims’ families.

Jan. 30 The Whole You Wellness Center: Located at 1016 Main Street, Benton, will offer free massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, PTSD education and much more from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Marshall County High School Class of 1995: The class has started a memorial benefit for the family of Secret Holt who is a member of that graduating class. You can contribute to the benefit by either calling the bank or sending a donation by mail.
