Mrs. Julia Esta Koon, 85, of Grand Rivers, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City. She was a member of Lake City Baptist Church.
Born Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1931, in Tiline, she was the daughter of the late Abe Clyde Cruce and the late Ora Mae (Tally) Cruce.
Surviving are sons, James Bradley Taylor of Grand Rivers, Clyde Spurlen Taylor of Kuttawa and Tommy Koon of Paducah; daughters, Sandra Ferrell, Pam Walker and Lana Lee all of Grand Rivers; sisters, Wanda Lynch and Iva Lois Owens, both of Tiline; 24 grandchildren,
and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Eskill Taylor; second husband, Frank E. Koon; sons, Bobby Joe Taylor and Donald Russell Taylor; daughters, Linda Howard, Carol Ann Biggs and Susan Taylor; brothers, Joe Cruce and Dickie Cruce; sister, Alma Effie Cruce; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Mac Walls officiating.
Interment will follow in Dixon Cemetery, Grand Rivers.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home.
