Benton Police Department officers are searching for a local man in connection to fraudulent Walmart purchases.
Clinton Shane Borders, 36, was indicted July 11 by a Marshall County grand jury on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000 and persistent felony offender charges. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, according to BPD, but as of Friday afternoon Borders had not been located.
Recent charges stem from a June investigation, in which BPD officer William Treadway and Walmart loss prevention staff identified 10 fraudulent purchases totaling $1,639.53 made between May 30 to June 16 at the Benton store. According to BPD, purchases were traced back to Borders.
Police are asking anyone with information as to Borders’ location to contact BPD at 270-527-3126, central dispatch at 270-527-1333 or any local law enforcement agency.
