Mrs. Ethel Lynn Thornton, age 66 of Benton, KY died on Monday, February 20, 2017, at her home. She was a retired cook and waitress in the food service industry and a member of Hamlet Baptist Church.
Born Thursday, August 17, 1950 in Iuka, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Clarence William Zosel and the late Drucilla (Floyd) Harper.
Surviving are sons, Christopher Thornton of Carrolton, KY and Fred Edwin Thornton of Calvert City, KY, brother, Leonard Zosel of Benton, KY, sister, Joyce Ann Canup of Benton, KY, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Jack Studie officiating.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Worthville Masonic Cemetery, Worthville, KY.
