Hickory, KY (February 7, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police has received information
on a scam going on in the Post 1 area. An unknown person, called a local business
claiming to be from Kentucky Utilities and stated their power would be shut off if
they didn’t make an immediate payment over the phone. If you receive a call like
this, do not give the caller any information or payment over the phone and do not
call the number they provide you. Contact your local power company with a number
you have verified, and speak with them about your account.
