There’s something for everyone at the Marshall County Library

kristi tuckerBENTON – Kristi Tucker, Marshall County Public Library Director, addressed the Fiscal Court Tuesday with some of their numbers from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

A statistical report of Kentucky Public Libraries ranks Marshall County Public Library in the top 10 for the following categories: Book Circulation, per capita (since 2005), Book Collection Size, per capita and Annual Wireless (WIFI) Sessions, per capita.

There are 28,852 Marshall County Libraries cardholders during this time. The library recorded 205,135 visits to the library, 954,932 items checked out (includes digital material), 201,347 public PC and WIFI use, 420,501 patron database searches and 838 meeting room use by groups.

The Marshall County Public Libraries are located in Benton, Calvert City, Hardin and the Bookmobile with programs for all ages. Most recent numbers show 15,108 people attended 564 programs from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.

Tucker announced the tax rate for 2016 using the compensating tax rate is 9.4% for real property and 9.76% for personal property.
