MARVIN E. HOLLAND,
Marvin Eugene Holland, 87, of Benton KY, born May 8th 1929, a man made entirely of Love. Over the course of his life he made many sacrifices for the ones he loved, a veteran, who served in the United States Army during the Korean War, a mechanic who with his own two hands, under the hoods of cars; built the family business Holland’s Auto Repair, of Murray KY. A man of great strength and integrity, with a heart so full it would often burst open and spill out of his sky blue eyes. He was a precious soul that will never be forgotten. His kindness was evident by the sweet smile he always had on his face and the many things he did for his loved ones and strangers alike. He leaves behind a legacy of humility, generosity, and most of all, Love. He spread the wings he always had and flew away on June 24th 2016 at 6:20PM.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Driver Holland of Benton, KY; one daughter, Debbie Thompson of Benton, KY; three sons, Michael Holland of Benton, KY; David Holland of Benton, KY and Leonard Holland of Hardin, KY; six grandchildren, Michelle Holland Barnes of Smithland, KY; Robyn Holland of Benton, KY; Jessica Holland of Murray, KY; Dakota Holland of Benton, KY; Josh Thompson of Benton, KY and Kody Thompson York of Benton, KY; seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Gladys Waldrop of Calvert City, KY; Mary Stillwell and husband Dave of Gilbertsville, KY, Rachel Williams and husband Bob of Gilbertsville, KY; Marjorie Puckettand husband Jim of Calvert City, KY and Sue Bratcher of Briensburg, KY and two brothers, Charlie Holland and wife Rosemary of Gilbertsville, KY and Edgar Holland and wife Eunice of Watervale, MI.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, family matriarch, Dorothy Powell Holland; one sister, Lillian Johnson and three brothers, James Melvin Holland; Johnny Holland Jr. and Malcolm Ray Holland. His parents were John Holland and Bernice Farmer Holland.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00PM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Rev. Raymond Connor will officiate and burial with military rites will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00AM Saturday, July 2, 2016 Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
