Mr. Fred Pace, age 94 died on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and member of First Baptist Church of Benton. He was a volunteer at Haven of Hope, and honorably served his country during World War II in the US Army. Born Friday, July 29, 1921 in Marshall County, KY, he was the son of the late Norman Pace and the late Lona (Lyles) Pace. Surviving are sons, Danny Pace, wife Melva (Stevenson) of Benton, KY and Spencer Pace, wife Cathy (Elkins) of Benton, KY, brother, Grayson Pace, wife Ellie of Cincinatti, OH, sisters, Roselle Walker, husband John of Benton, KY, Eilene Schammerhorn of Benton, KY, and grandchildren, Brian Pace, wife Lauren of Paducah, KY, Derrick Pace, wife Shannon of Paducah, KY, and great grandson, Parker Ethan Pace. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alene (Staples) Pace, brothers, Mervin Pace and Gilman Pace, and brother-in-law, Joe Schammerhorn. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Don Wilson and Dr. Gene Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in the Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
