Marshall County played host to First Region rival Graves County on Friday. The Lady Marshals were looking to turn things around after a loss to Calloway County on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles came into Reed Conder Gymnasium on a 12-game winning streak and a record of 15-2. They lost their fourth and fifth games of the season and have been on a roll ever since.
Marshall County held Graves County to their lowest point total of the season but the sluggish night offensively for the Lady Marshals was enough for the Lady Eagles to run away with a 42-26 victory.

“I was more frustrated after the game Tuesday against Calloway because I felt like that was more us backing down”, Head Coach Aaron Beth said in post-game comments to WCBL’s Jeff Waters. “We didn’t back down tonight, we just didn’t make shots.”
Graves County led 10-5 at the end of the first quarter. All five of the Lady Marshals points were scored by Addi Wall. With perimeter shots just not falling, they added another five points from inside and trailed 19-10 at halftime. Hannah Glisson had 12 first half points for Graves County.
Rylan Darnall broke through with the first made three-pointer of the night for the Lady Marshals in the third quarter and a three from Kenzlee Terry trimmed the Lady Eagles lead down to eight at 29-21.
Graves County held the Lady Marshals to five points in the fourth quarter and outscored them by six to earn the win by 16. Glisson hit two three’s to finish her night out with 24 points to lead all scorers.
The Lady Marshals were 7-of-13 at the free throw line while the Lady Eagles hit 11-of-17.
Up next is a game at Todd County Central on Monday. The Lady Marshals beat the Lady Rebels 66-24 earlier this season.
