Maxine Vandry, 93, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her residence.
She was born on April 28, 1931 in Pittsburg, Kansas to the late Roy Stanley Wilkerson and Dorothy Whiteside Wilkerson. Maxine worked for Paducah Bank and was a homemaker. She was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years in the Children’s Department and later in the young adults. Maxine was active in the Women’s Missionary Union of Lone Oak First Baptist and several other groups at the church and civic organizations through the years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lora May Vandry and Ruth Ann Vandry both of Paducah, Kentucky and Jana Joy Underwood of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister and one brother; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a special friend, Pat Thompson of Paducah, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Vandry; daughter, Mary Jo Vandry; two sisters, and her parents.
Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Wallace officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
