Calvert City, KY (December 02, 2024) – On November 30, 2024 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department went to an address on Cedar Street to serve a warrant. Upon arrival, the officer noticed two individuals in the driveway. When the officer made contact, both individuals appeared to be very nervous. Another unit was requested to respond to the address. One of the subjects attempted to walk away from the officer. It was discovered that he dropped a crumpled receipt containing a crystal-like substance. Mark M. Hayes, 39, of Calvert City was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine). He was also charged with tampering with physical evidence. CCPD was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.On November 30, 2024 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department went to an address on Cedar Street to serve a warrant. Robert Nass, 55, of Calvert City was served a Marshall County Warrant for theft of services $1,000 < $10,000. In September of 2024 CCPD was notified by Jackson Purchase Energy that the meter at this residence had been altered to allow the flow of electricity after being shut off for non-payment in 2023. The amount of electricity metered after shut off was around $2,400.
