Marshals lose, win and draw in last three matches

In their last three games, the Marshals suffered a loss to Bowling Green, picked up a win over Massac County, Ill. and achieved a tie against Region 1 rival McCracken County and their record stands at 4-3-1.

Last Saturday at Bowling Green, one of the state’s top ranked teams shut out the Marshals 5-0. Goalkeeper Carson Lovett had five saves while Bowling Green’s defenders shut down the Marshals offense.

Bowling Green’s goals came from Hassan Bisengo (2), Braden Widener (2) and Wasoo Shindano (1). The Purples have shut out their first five opponents of the season, outscoring them 19-0.

Tuesday, the Marshals hosted Massac County, Ill. at Colburn Field and shut out the Patriots 5-0. Goals were scored by Tommy Robertson with two and a goal each came from Braden Burnham, Isaac Reynolds and Houston Johnson. Colton Snyder had three assists and Isaac Reynolds recorded two assists. Carson Lovett had one save.

Thursday in Draffenville, Marshall County and McCracken County (2-3-3) clashed for 80 minutes in a game that ended in a 1-1 tie. Isaac Reynolds scored the Marshals lone goal while Dexter Pacheco found the net once for the Mustangs. Houston Johnson had the assist on the Reynolds goal. Carson Lovett had 10 saves and Lane Grace recorded five for McCracken County.

Up next for the Marshals is a district game on Thursday at undefeated Murray High (7-0).
