Calvert City Pickleball players went to Effingham, Ill. to participate in the Effing Paddle Battle August 16-18. This event was held at the EPD SEHY Pickleball Courts on 10 outdoor permanent courts. With 237 players competing for medals in Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5. All first place finishes had a $200 payout. The Mixed Doubles 3.0 and 3.5 Divisions were combined allowing Danette and Ricky Baker of Eddyville to win first place in 3.0 Division plus $200 and win Bronze in 3.0/3.5 combined Division.
