
The Marshall County Invitational held on Tuesday at Calvert City Country Club marks the beginning of the high school golf season. Heavy rain delayed the afternoon start for the girl’s teams and when play wrapped up in the evening, the Marshall County girls topped the field of eight teams to win with a score of 329.
The Lady Marshals were led by CeCelia Ray who shot 79 and earned third place overall. Katie Roberts finished with 80, Skylar Waller 85, Brooklyn Cunningham 85 and Kelli Roberts 87.
McCracken County placed second with 358 and Murray came in third with 371 to round out the top three teams.
Medalist honors went to University Height’s Conlee Lindsey with a round of 77, Mayfield’s Avery Sullivan shot 78 to finish second ahead of CeCelia Ray in third.
The Lady Marshals will play in the Lady Rocket Invitational at Weissinger Hills in Shelbyville on Thursday.
