Lyon County Police Reports

  • On Sunday, June 16, 2024, around 5:19pm, Deputy Josh Travis began an investigation after receiving a report of a stolen credit card being used at a Lyon County business. The investigation revealed the card information was actually stolen in 2022 and used at merchants in Lyon County and at other businesses in Caldwell County through June of 2024 without the knowledge of the account holder. The investigation is continuing by Deputy Travis.

 

  • On Monday, June 17, 2024, around 7pm, Deputy Josh Travis responded to Ken Oak Drive in Eddyville for a minor two-vehicle collision. His investigation revealed that a 2007 Toyota was parked in a marked parking lane when it was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. If anyone has information concerning this accident, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 270-388-2311.

 

  • On Sunday, June 23, 2024, around 5:30pm, Sheriff Brent White was conducting a Corps of Engineers patrol route when he came upon an abandoned vehicle with the hood up in the roadway on KY 1271 at Eureka Campground. Sheriff White noted the vehicle had an expired Indiana registration plate. He returned to an area he had seen a female walking just before finding the vehicle in the roadway. He made contact with the female and asked if she needed assistance. She apologized for the vehicle being in the roadway and then ran to the vehicle before closing the hood and taking off North bound on KY 1271. Sheriff White attempted to stop the vehicle; however, she did not stop until coming to the 1000 block of KY 1271. After a roadside investigation, Emily A. Dunaway (41) of Evansville, IN was arrested and charged with Improper Parking on Traveled Portion of Highway, Expired Other State Registration, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance-2nd Offense, and Driving on a DUI Suspended License-1st It was determined that approximately 21 days prior to this incident, Dunaway was arrested following an incident where she claimed to be broken down on a highway in Hopkins County and when a good Samaritan stopped to assist her, she reportedly stole the good Samaritan’s vehicle and led local law enforcement on a two-county pursuit until she was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies. Dunaway was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
  • On Sunday, June 23, 2024, around 7pm, Deputy Josh Travis was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at on Outlet Avenue in Eddyville. The investigation revealed an unoccupied 2016 Nissan was parked in a marked parking lane when it was struck by an unidentified vehicle twice before fleeing the scene. A witness at the scene stated the other vehicle was an early 2000’s model tan Ford, F-150 pickup truck.   • On Sunday, June 23, 2024, around 10pm, Deputy Josh Travis served an arrest warrant from Lyon Circuit Court on Kennedy J. Stuart (27) of Richland, MO, charging her with Failure to Appear. Stuart was extradited from the state of Minnesota after failing to appear in court to felony drug related charges. Stuart was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  • On Monday, June 24, 2024, around 6:45pm, Deputy David Carroll and Deputy Josh Travis responded to a two-vehicle, injury collision at the intersection of US 62, US 641, & KY 3305. Deputy Carroll’s investigation revealed a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Jacob R. Matchen (17) of Eddyville was East bound on US 62 when he disregarded the traffic control device and collided with a North bound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Billy R. Coursey (54) of Eddyville, in the intersection. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. A passenger in the Chevrolet Tahoe, Kathy Coursey (49) of Eddyville, was injured and had to be extricated by the Eddyville Fire Department. Mrs. Coursey was transported to Baptist Health-Paducah by Lyon County EMS for evaluation of her injuries. The two drivers declined medical transport to a hospital. Deputy Carroll and Deputy Travis were assisted at the scene by Eddyville Fire Department, Lyon County EMS, and KY Department of Highways.

 

  • On Monday, June 24, 2024, around 11:45am, Sheriff Brent White responded to a commercial vehicle collision just North of Lamasco on KY 93 South. The investigation revealed a 2019 International CBE LT 625, driven by Anthony G. Aldridge (66) of Hopkinsville was driving North on KY 93 when he dropped a wheel off the shoulder and lost control before overturning. Aldridge was loaded with harvested timber at the time. The roadway was closed for several hours as crews cleaned up the scene. The collision damaged a natural gas pipeline infrastructure in addition to a phone line, utility line, soybean field, and the asphalt pavement. The driver was charged with multiple violations of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Act. Sheriff White was assisted at the scene by Eddyville Fire Department, Lyon County EMS, and Kentucky State Police CVE Division.

 

 

 

  • On Monday, June 24, 2024, around 10:53am, Captain Dennis Beckett charged Harold Hayes (42), address unknown, with a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant charging him with Promoting Contraband-1st Degree and Persistent Felony Offender-I. Hayes will remain an inmate at the Kentucky State Penitentiary.

 

  • On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, around 8:30am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams charged Joshua A. Johnson (44) of Jackson, TN with a Failure to Appear bench warrant from McCracken District Court. Johnson later posted a cash bond and was released from custody.

 

  • On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, around 7:45pm, Deputy David Carroll and other law enforcement officers responded to a juvenile complaint on Jenkins Road, just North of Eddyville. Once on scene, Deputy David Carroll determined there were six juveniles who possessed alcoholic beverages and Marijuana vapes. The juveniles were all detained and five were later released to their parents/guardians. One juvenile male, a 13-year-old, from Princeton was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Person < 18 Possessing, Purchasing for Another Alcoholic Beverages. He was released to his parent/guardian per the authority of the Court Designated Worker. A 15-year-old juvenile male from Eddyville was arrested and charged with Contempt of Court/Resistance to Order after he was found to be in violation of Pre-adjudicative Terms of Release in another pending case before the court, and after a District Court Judge ordered his detention. He was lodged in the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

 

  • On Friday, June 28, 2024, around 8:50am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams charged Danielle P. Diemer (26) of Hopkinsville on a Warren District Court bench warrant charging her with failure to appear. Diemer will remain in state custody pending extradition back to Warren County.

 

  • On Friday, June 28, 2024, beginning around 1pm and continuing through the evening hours, Sheriff’s Office personnel were dispatched to two commercial vehicle accidents on US 641 between the 1mm and the 4mm. The investigation revealed the first collision involved a vehicle departing New Bethel Road before colliding with a stop sign, impacting a ditch, and damaging the asphalt pavement. The second collision involved a North bound commercial vehicle on US 641 whereby the operator drove off the roadway and overturned resulting in cargo loss of the trailer. US 641 was shut down for several hours as a result of both incidents. Both semis were connected with the solar project on US 641. The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division personnel investigated both incidents. The Eddyville Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, KY Department of Highways, and Lyon County EMS assisted at both scenes.

 

At approximately 3:10pm, while US 641 was closed to traffic due to the second collision, the operator of a 2011 Ford Flex went around the barricades and attempted to drive down US 641 until reaching the collision scene. She was identified as Natasha B. Redd (40) of Paducah. Redd was charged with Disregarding Signals from Officers Directing Traffic.

 

  • On Saturday, June 29, 2024 around 6pm, Deputy Josh Travis served a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant for felony offense probation violation, on William J. Scheil (45) of Summerfield, FL. Scheil was extradited back to Kentucky from Florida. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
