Mayfield, KY – [May 20, 2024] – The Purchase District Pageant is proud to announce that Karlie Holmen, Miss Teen Purchase District, has been crowned Miss Teen Kentucky USA 2024. Karlie will now advance to represent Kentucky at the Miss Teen USA competition in Hollywood, CA, on August 4, 2024.
Karlie Holmen, a student at Marshall County High School, member of the Fellow of Christian Athletes, FFA, and Student Leadership, and Academic Honor Roll and the prestigious National Honor Society, all while cheerleading for the Marshalls and competitively. She is passionate about community service, particularly through her work with the Marshall County Humane Society, where she dedicates her time to helping animals find loving homes. Additionally, Karlie is an advocate for mental health awareness and has worked to promote positive mental health practices among her peers.
Laura Doughty, the Director of Miss Purchase District, expressed her pride in Karlie’s accomplishment, stating, “Working with Karlie and these girls from the Purchase District is such a privilege. Karlie, specifically, has been such a joy because of her focus and discipline to do the work. While the pageant platform may be faces various challenges, we believe that in order to make a difference; to make a true impact, you have to participate. Change comes through people like Karlie Holmen using this platform to make a difference.”
Karlie Holmen shared her excitement and gratitude, saying, “I’m still in shock. I’m so excited for this opportunity and privilege to serve. I could not have done this without my Director, Laura Doughty. She’s done so much for me and always believed in me.”
The Purchase District Pageant is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and scholarship organization dedicated to empowering young women through educational opportunities and community involvement. This year’s Purchase District Pageant will be held on Saturday, July 27th, at 2pm in Mayfield, KY.
