Single vehicle collision with injuries results in DUI arrest.

On May 15th, 2024, at approximately 4:48 P.M. deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of 420 Wadesboro Road a single vehicle roll-over collision with injuries.

Upon arrival deputies observed a dump truck that had overturned and was in the ditch.  A witness on scene stated that the male operator of the dump truck had left prior to law enforcements arrival.  The operator was identified as James Willingham, 52 years old of Symsonia Kentucky.  While investigating the collision deputies observed James Willingham in the passenger seat of a vehicle and drive by the collision.

The vehicle was stopped, and James Willingham was determined to be under the influence of alcohol.

James Willingham was transported to a local hospital by the Mayfield Fire Department for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.

After being medically cleared James Willingham was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Hendron Fire Department, Mayfield Fire Department, The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, DES, and Harpers Towing.

Charges:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 3rd offense.
  • Criminal mischief 3rd degree.
  • Leaving the scene of an accident.
