Calvert City, KY (May 13, 2024) – On the evening of May 10, 2024 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department was patrolling when he saw a subject operating a motor vehicle who was known to have a DUI suspended operators license. A traffic stop was performed and Wendy Dawn Garnett, 46, of Calvert City was arrested for driving on a DUI suspended license 1st offense. She was also charged with failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, and failure to notify DOT of address change.
On May 13, 2024 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department observed a vehicle traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed on US 62. Radar showed the vehicle to be traveling at 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted. Upon contact with the driver, he was not wearing his seat belt and the officer could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages omitting from the vehicle. After further investigation, David Lamont Craig, 40, of Birmingham, AL was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st offense. He was also charged with speeding 26 mph or > speed limit and failure to wear seat belt.
