On March 5, 2024 at 9:45 P.M. the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9-mile marker of Interstate 24 regarding a head-on collision.
The investigation revealed a 2008 Cadillac CTS, operated by Tri Nguyen (20) of Paducah was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate. It was also reported the vehicle did not have the headlights on.
The Cadillac collided head-on with a 2024 Freightliner, operated by Carol Gordon (64) of McDonough, Georgia. Augustine Idemudia (37) of Cypress, Texas was a passenger.
Mr. Nguyen was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passengers of the Freightliner were taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threating injuries.
We were assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, Reidland-Farley Fire Department, McCracken County DES, Speedy’s Towing and McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
