Hilda Milagros Rodriguez, 91, of Benton, Kentucky, formerly of San Juan, Puerto Rico, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Lakeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Hilda was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on September 5, 1932 to the late Inocencio Rodriguez and Juana Carrasquillo. Her generosity and compassion for others led her to pursue her passion in the medical field. She was one of the first licensed lab technicians in Puerto Rico and later became a registered nurse. In addition to her medical career, Hilda was a well-known businesswoman in her community, owning and operating both a walk-in health clinic, Policlinica La Milagrosa, and a nursing home, La Milagrosa. When not caring for others at work, she could be found cooking or sewing in her spare time. Above all, Hilda was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother whose family will forever miss her.
Hilda’s family would like to express their most heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Father Greg Trawick and the members of St. Henry Catholic Church as well as to all of the staff at Lakeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all of the love and support they have received.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Lyzzette Marie Rodriguez of Benton, Kentucky; her son, Carlos Alberto Rodriguez of San Juan, Puerto Rico; her granddaughter, Karla Enid Rodriguez; and one dear friend, Herenia Ibanez who Hilda always called “Tita, my second daughter”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Inocencio Rodriguez and Juana Carrasquillo.
