Lady Marshals sweep games in the FNB Bank Marshall County Holiday Classic

It was sweep for the Lady Marshals in this week’s FNB Marshall County Holiday Classic at Reed Conder Gymnasium. Three wins over two days began with a 57-37 win over Hancock County on Tuesday and two wins on Wednesday 73-43 over Christian County and a 58-37 win over Union County.

Skylar Waller’s 18-point game led the Lady Marshals in the win over Hancock County. Waller had 12 points in the first quarter which included three 3-pointers to fuel a 14-4 first quarter lead.

Coming into the second half up 28-15, the Lady Marshals blew the game wide open in the third quarter, outscoring Hancock County 19-3.

Skylar Waller led the Lady Marshals in scoring in two of their FNB Bank Holiday Classic games and combined for a total of 51 points over the three games.

Two games on Thursday in the FNB Marshall County Holiday Classic began with a 10:00 a.m. game against Christian County. Waller put up another 18 points to lead the Lady Marshals in their 73-43 win. Kenzlee Terry and Laken Schroader each finished with 13 points.

They scored the first 15 points of the game before the Lady Colonels got on the board and went on to stretch out an early 24-point lead at 27-3 to end the first quarter. Lake Schroader led in the quarter with nine points.

Christian County found some offense in the second quarter and equaled the Lady Marshals scoring. Both teams added 10 more points and the Lady Marshals halftime lead was 37-13.

Waller scored 13 of the Lady Marshals 18 third quarter points. The Lady Colonels scored 19 with six each coming from Lazarie Daniel and NeVaeh Day and they trimmed the lead by one point at 55-32.

Six different players combined for 18 fourth quarter points for the Lady Marshals on their way to picking up the 30-point win.

The Lady Marshals were an impressive 19-of-21 at the free throw line and hit six 3-pointers led by Waller with two.

Kenzlee Terry scored a combined 31 points over the Lady Marshals three games in the FNB Marshall County Holiday Classic.

The Lady Marshals ended their successful day Thursday with another win over Union County. Three in double figures helped lead them to a 58-37 win to improve their record to 8-2. Chevelle Henson led the scoring with 17 points followed by Waller with 15 and Terry with 12.

Henson scored 13 of her 17 points in the first quarter to give the Lady Marshals an 18-9 lead. Waller dropped in two of her five 3-pointers in the game in the second quarter to help push the Lady Marshals lead to 35-17 at halftime.

Terry led the third quarter scoring with six points and they were up 51-24 going into the fourth. A three from Waller, a basket by Henson and two free throws by Addi Wall rounded out the scoring in the 21-point win.
