Lady Marshals top Massac County 67-42 to open Marshall County Hoopfest

The 2023 Marshall County Hoopfest kicked off Wednesday evening with two girl’s matchups. Marshall County played Massac County followed by Graves County against Lyon County.

The Lady Marshals defeated the Lady Patriots 67-42 behind a 25-point game from junior Skylar Waller who earned MVP honors for her efforts. Waller hit six 3-pointers, was 3-of-3 at the free throw line and had four assists.

Joining Waller in double figures, sophomore Eden Sandlin finished with 18 points, hit four 3-pointers and was 4-of-6 at the stripe. Senior Chevelle Henson had 10 points.

The Lady Marshals led 33-24 at halftime and 47-31 at the end of three quarters.

Massac County was led in scoring by Adalyn Gower with 13 points and Elise Coakley with 12.

Lyon County defeated Graves County 62-59. The Lady Lyons were led by Piper Cotham with 18 points. Morgan Alexander led Graves County with 25 points.
