Ollie Pearl Winchester went to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 16, 2023, after a short struggle with congestive heart failure following hip surgery. She was 92 years old.
Pearl was born in Camden, Tennesse, on August 30, 1931, to the late Henry Paul Umsted and Ollie Myrtle Umstead. She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Herman) Mitchell, son Tommy (Glenda) Winchester, brother Bobby (Janice) Umsted, sister Shirley (Bobby) Brewer, and two granddaughters Maggie and Cayla.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Winchester, with whom they shared 63 years of married life together. She is also preceded in death by four brothers Jim Umsted, Neal Umsted, Earnest Umsted, and Wray Umsted, as well as by one sister Dorabell Chappell.
Pearl was a full-time mom and later a part-time church secretary at Bethany Parkway United Methodist Church, where she was a member for 33 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery and gardening.
