Molly McKinney Boggess, 86 of Hardin, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Stilley House in Benton, Kentucky.
Molly was born in Iuka, Kentucky May 25, 1937 to the late Charlie McKinney and Norean Robertson McKinney. Molly was a retired teacher with the Marshall County School system. She began with 2nd grade at the newly built Jonathan Elementary. During a brief relocation, she taught adults at Walter State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee. Upon her return to Marshall County, Molly taught 6th grade at the old Hardin Elementary and at the newly built South Marshall Elementary. Molly finished her career with the gifted and talented program also known as SUMA, Step Up Marshall Achievers. She earned a Masters degree plus 30 and above at Murray State University. She loved children, books, rocks, the History Channel and butterflies.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Boggess and wife, Deb of Murray, KY; daughter, Rebecca Dublin and her beagle, Buttercup of Fernandina Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Brooke Keeling (Billy) and Blair Boggess; two step-grandchildren, Karol Carlisle and Cade Carlisle; five great-grandchildren, Gavin Daughaday, Garrett Keeling, Piper Daughaday, Gage Keeling and Mollie Daughaday.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Gary W. Boggess and her parents.
