Christian Fellowship’s Dawson Hicks advances to Sub-State round of the KHSAA State Golf Tournament

Christian Fellowship’s Dawson Hicks shot a 7-over par 79 in Tuesday’s Region 1 Tournament to qualify for the Sub-State round to be held next week at Calvert City Country Club. Hicks helped lead the CFS team to a 14th place finish with a team score of 398 at Drake Creek Golf Club.

Following Hicks, CFS scoring came from Isaac Choate with 96, Dylan Ortt shot 99, Samuel Grigg shot 124 and Austin Cary a round of 132. The Eagles are coached by Eric Ortt.

McCracken County won the Region 1 Championship with a score of 311. Marshall County finished runner-up with 315. Both teams advance to next week along with the next 10 best individual scores.

Marshall County’s DJ Morris took the individual win with a 1-under par 71.

The 10 individuals who advance to next week include Travis Perry 72 (Lyon County), Aiden Hahn 74 (St. Mary), Jeremiah Foster 74 (Crittenden County), Maddox O’Guinn 76 (Graves County), Evan Hack 78 (Paducah Tilghman), Luke Wilson 78 (St. Mary), Dawson Hicks 79 (CFS) and Zack Grogan 80 (Carlisle County).
