The sun will shine a little less bright for many, with the sudden passing of Daveta Elaine Middleman on the morning of July 21st.

Daveta was born in Benton, KY April 25th, 1969 to Valeta Neal Jackson and David Eugene Council. She was a precocious child and that same lust for life and knowledge continued through her life on this earth. She will be remembered as a fierce supporter and defender of her family, as well as trusted and loyal friend to so many. She was the hardest of workers and her trade accomplishments were many having successful careers in fields such as paralegal work, security clearance positions at various plants, horticultural work at a local nursery, managerial positions dealing in fire and water restoration, and even sales of building materials. She was also a self-taught electrician and plumber. Daveta loved to camp, fish, travel, riding her trike, and her latest passion was concert attending, having had a calendar year already planned. She was the very definition of “living life”. Her smile was brilliant, her laugh infectious and her heart and generosity knew no boundaries.

Daveta was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Joel Glenn Middleman, her father David Eugene Council, her maternal grandparents, Gracie Beatrice Rector and Grover Cleveland Rector. Also, her paternal grandparents, David Noah Council and Effie Beatrice Council Laslie.

She is survived by her children, Joelle Elaine Middleman of Cape Girardeau, MO. Joseph David Middleman (Victoria) of Benton, KY, two granddaughters, Stratton Ann Middleman and Booker Elaine Middleman of Benton, KY. Also, her mother, Valeta Neal Jackson of Benton, and a sister Michelle Loraine Young of Benton. Also, her friend and companion Terry Corbin of Barlow, Ky.
