
Vivian Dale McCullough Pirtle, 89, of High Point, North Carolina formerly of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Brookdale Assisted Living North High Point in North Carolina.
Mrs. Pirtle was born on June 12, 1934 to the late Rulen and Bessie Hudgins McCullough in Manila, Arkansas. She was a longtime member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Classes for 29 years and was a member of the Lone Oak Homemakers Club. She had worked at Citizens Bank and retired after 27 years as Cafeteria Manager at Lone Oak Elementary School. Vivian loved to cook which led to her to organize, cook and serve for the Lone Oak High School Madrigal Dinner. Vivian also loved to swim and she attended the choir concerts and baseball games of her children, Julie and Jason.
Vivian is survived by a daughter, Julie Pirtle of Greensboro, North Carolina; a son, James ‘Jason’ Pirtle and his wife, Renee of Richmond, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Allison Markwood (Seth) of High Point, North Carolina, Jason Adam Bostic (Emily) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Ashleigh Starnes (Isaac) of Lexington, North Carolina, Kylie Pirtle of Richmond, Kentucky; five great-grandchildren, Ender James Markwood, Auggie Markwood, Story Dale Markwood, Alister Bostic and Dorothy Jayne Bostic.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Edward Pirtle; a son, Dale Edward Pirtle; two brothers, Mackey Joe McCullough and Wayne McCullough.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Rev. Seth Markwood officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the service hour of 11:00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Lone Oak First Baptist Church.
