LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE
⦁ On Monday, June 5th, 2023, around 8:50am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams served a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant on Isaac Maroney (29) of Eddyville. Maroney will answer to a Felony Probation Violation regarding a pre-trial diversion on a Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine), a Criminal Mischief-2nd Degree, and an Assault-4th Degree (domestic violence) case from 2021. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
⦁ On Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, around 1:15am, Deputy David Carroll arrested Brandon L. Rosario (26) of Hardin on a Calloway District Court bench warrant for Failure to Pay Fines/Costs. Rosario was later able to post bond and was released from custody.
⦁ On Thursday, June 8th, 2023, around 3:30pm, Deputy Aaron O’Leary and Chief Deputy Sam Adams answered a disturbance and trespassing complaint at a Kuttawa business on Days Inn Drive. Following this complaint, they detained a 47-year-old male from Doniphan, Missouri due to him being a danger to himself and/or others. Deputy O’Leary petitioned Lyon District Court for a mental health warrant on the male subject, which was granted. The male was subsequently evaluated by a Qualified Mental Health Professional and later taken to Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville for treatment. Note: the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office does not release the identity of mentally ill consumers who are in treatment.
⦁ On Thursday, June 8th, 2023, around 5:20pm, Deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Western KY Violent Crimes Task Force assisted the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office as well as other local law enforcement agencies in arresting a drug trafficker identified as Paul D. Loyd (67) of Marion. Loyd is accused of multiple counts of trafficking in methamphetamine as well as other related drug offenses.
A search warrant was later executed at his Crittenden County home which resulted in additional drug charges related to the illegal distribution of methamphetamine. Loyd was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
⦁ On Friday, June 9th, 2023, around 7:45am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams answered a single vehicle collision report on Eddy Creek Road. The investigation revealed a county road department employee was on Eddy Creek Road in a 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck when a deer entered its path of travel resulting in an accident. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle remained in service.
⦁ On Friday, June 9th, 2023, around 9:45am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams served a Lyon District Court bench warrant for Contempt of Court on Zettie C. Jarrard (48) of Kuttawa. Jarrard was arrested and later able to post a $500 cash bond before being released from custody.
⦁ On Saturday, June 10th, 2023, around 12:50pm, Chief Deputy Sam Adams served a Marion Circuit Court indictment warrant on Shawn M. Gribbins (36) of Lebanon. Gribbins was charged with Assault-3rd Degree (inmate assault on correctional employee) and Persistent Felony Offender-II. Gribbins will remain in the custody of the KY Department of Corrections until being extradited to Marion County to face the charges related to this indictment.
