SYMSONIA, Ky. (May 19, 2023) – At approximately 6:40pm CT, Kentucky State Police, Post 1 received a call of a female being held against her will in a vehicle in the Symsonia area of Graves County. Troopers located the vehicle at the Symsonia Dollar General and observed two occupants. Upon the troopers approach of the vehicle, the male occupant exited the vehicle holding a firearm. Troopers attempted to de-escalate the situation with verbal commands. The male then turned his weapon toward himself and discharged it. No law enforcement weapons were fired. Life-saving efforts were attempted; however, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female was provided services by the Kentucky State Police Victim’s Advocate. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Moore.
