Mrs. Pat Jean (Downing) Green, age 88 of Benton, KY died on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House, Murray, KY surrounded by her three daughters. She was a homemaker who loved her family and cats. She enjoyed gardening, working on her flowers, and raking leaves. She was the longest living member of Church Grove United Methodist Church.
Born Saturday, September 29, 1934 in Marshall County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Leemon Downing and the late Miladean (Johnston) Downing.
Surviving are daughters, Carla Ivey, husband Michael of Benton, KY, Kelli Cornwell of Benton, KY, Lea Bowland, husband Drew of Murray, KY, grandchildren, Jessica Doom, husband Jason of Benton, KY, Lauren Ivey of Benton, KY, Rachel Cornwell, husband Mike Choi of Benton, KY, McKenzie Samford, husband John of Benton, KY, great-grandchildren, Coen Doom, Chloe Doom, Addie Samford, sister, Judy Garland of North Carolina, several special nieces and nephews, and her very special niece, Jennifer Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 65 years, Joe R. Green, brother, Harold Downing, and sister, Darla Edwards.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Rev. Samantha Hall officiating.
Interment will follow in the Benton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home.
