On March 1, 2023, a collision was reported at Woodlawn Memorial Garden Cemetery on Old US Highway 45. A 55 year old female was driving a small silver suv when she left the cemetery roadway and struck a mausoleum at a high rate of speed. This caused serious damage to both the vehicle and the mausoleum. The driver remained alert and responsive, and was initially transported to an area hospital before being transferred to an out of state hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the collision. The driver’s name is being intentionally withheld at this time to ensure family members are notified.
