George Gaylon Rogers, age 83, of Mayfield, KY passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Baptist Health Paducah surrounded by his family.
He was a lifelong member of Hickory Baptist Church and a Army Veteran. Gaylon was a retired employee from Ingersoll Rand. He was also a member of the Purchase Area Antique Tractor and Engine Club.
Gaylon is survived by his son Michael (Teresa) Rogers of Mayfield, KY; three grandchildren, Lauren Thomas of Benton, KY, A.J. (Christy) Rogers of Wingo, KY, and Kyle (Sarah) Rogers of Mayfield, KY; seven great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Carol Jones Rogers; son, Brent Allan Rogers and his parents Ellis T. and Nellie Spillman Rogers.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday January 24, 2023 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Rob Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery. Jimmy Hargrove, Joey Rogers, Shane Rogers, Rob Gill, Jimmy Adair and Allen Willhelm will serve as pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday January 24, 2023.
