Thelma Booker, age 97, of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Bardwell, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Depaul Hospital in St. Louis.
Mrs. Booker was born in Cardwell, Missouri on February 12, 1925 to the late Richard and Castelle Fortner. She worked on the assembly line at Star Manufacturing Company. Thelma loved to listen to books, quilting and Dr. Pepper (which she drank every day). Her greatest love was for her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Bardwell Church of Christ.
Thelma is survived by one son, Jerral Wayne Booker (Debra) of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren, Teresa Kochera of Goergia, Geoffrey Booker of Arlington, Christy Tinnin of St. Louis, Missouri, Paul Booker of Florida, Robert Stogsdill of St. Charles, Missouri and Tina Stogsdill of St. Charles, Missouri; fifteen great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Walter Booker; one son, George Wallace Booker; one sister, Euvetta Fortner Jennings; four brothers, Everett Fortner, Clinton Fortner, Norman Fortner and Dale Fortner; and one grandson, Shawn Booker.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Michael Trivett officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Saturday, January 7, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
